The tour starts in Tórshavn, where a local guide will pick you up with one of our luxury vehicles. Our fleet consists of a BMW 7-series, a Volvo XC90 and a Mercedes V-Class.
Driving north from the capital, you can see some amazing scenery. The first stop is in the village of Saksun. Saksun lies in the bottom of what used to be an inlet of the sea, surrounded by high mountains. The inlet formed a good deep natural harbour, until a storm blocked it with sand.
The second stop is in the village of Tjørnuvík, which is the northernmost village on Streymoy. It lies and nestles inside a narrow sandy bay, surrounded by high mountains. Tjørnuvík is not only a beautiful place where you can go for a walk and admire the magnificent view, it is also the surfers’ paradise. The challenging ocean waves rolling in from the North Atlantic are becoming legendary among surfers.
The last stop on this amazing tour is in the village of Gjógv, where you also will be able to enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee in the beautiful Byrgisstova. Gjógv is the northernmost village on the island of Eysturoy. The village is named after a sea-filled gorge that runs from the village into the ocean.
After your stop in Gjógv, you will head back to Tórshavn. On your way to Tórshavn, you will drive thorugh The Eysturoyartunnil. The world’s first under sea roundabout.
